LAHORE – On Monday, former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi will meet with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan.
Pervaiz Khattak will also be there to address the country’s current position and future ambitions.
Previously, Parvez Elahi met with former defence minister Parvaiz Khattak to discuss the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Punjab by-elections.
Elahi said that, in light of the court’s ruling, there was no need to extend election dates, that the judiciary upheld the supremacy of law and the constitution, and that violations of the constitution would not be accepted.
He said, “The Election Commission (EC) should fulfil its responsibility and provide the election timetable. The governor and EC must cease taking the situation for granted. The country is facing Pakistan Democratic Moment (PDM) election-related anxiety.”
The former defence minister said that Imran Khan’s popularity has wreaked havoc among the politicians, citing the constitutional obligation of the Election Commission and the governor. He continued, “The court’s ruling has been rendered, and evading elections at this point would be of no use; all retaliation operations and lawsuits will not prevent PTI from running for office.”
