The Lahore High Court on Tuesday granted temporary bail to Ameer Fateh, a suspect in the murder of Javed Butt, the brother-in-law of underworld figure Teefi Butt, preventing police from detaining him until January 22.
The interim bail motion was considered by Justice Amjad Rafique. Advocate Abid Saqi attended on behalf of the petitioner, claiming that Ameer Fateh had been wrongly accused in the murder case and had no link to the occurrence.
The lawyer insisted that the sessions court had denied bail contrary to the facts and told the court that the defendant was willing to fully help with the inquiry.
