The absence of petitioners Farrukh Habib, Maleeka Bokhari, Kanwal Shauzab, and Aliya Hamza from the Senate Election Video Scandal case hearing before the Election Commission on Thursday infuriated the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
“On what basis is the Election Commission blamed?” said the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) during the hearing. According to the CEC, the case has been postponed 17 times, with PTI taking 10 of them.
According to Yousaf Raza Gillani’s lawyer, the case was simply stopped to allow for a media trial. Hafeez Shaikh ran against Mr. Gillani in the election, but he did not submit a challenge or make any public declarations.
He went on to say that because the PTI did not register as a party, all applicants came as individuals, and as a result, the petitioners lack the right to sue Yousaf Raza Gillani.
According to the lawyer, there is no direct accusation against Mr. Gillani in the whole case, and the Supreme Court took no action since Arshad Malik’s film lacked forensics.
