LAHORE: Several urban and rural parts of Lahore and neighbouring districts are facing scheduled and unscheduled loadshedding, power shutdowns, and tripping for hours on end owing to a lack of electricity, maintenance, faults, and an overcrowded power distribution system.
As the situation worsens, people are making alternate preparations, such as installing solar panels and UPS systems, to deal with such a grave situation.
“The situation significantly improved over the Eid holidays because no loadshedding or management, shutdowns, etc. were observed,” says a consumer who lives in a neighbourhood near Batapur. “However, loadshedding began after the Eid holidays, making our lives unpleasant.” “These days, we face four to six hours of loadshedding every day.”
