According to health officials and healthcare specialists, many lab-confirmed cases of cholera, a fatal water-borne disease, have been reported from various areas of Lahore, but oddly, no alert or notice has been issued to warn people of the terrible disease.
“There have been a few cases of lab-confirmed cholera recorded, but the issue is under control.” “There aren’t many (cholera) cases in Lahore,” says a National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination official in Islamabad (NHSR&C).
Dr. Faisal Sultan, a former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health, revealed that the Shaukat Khanum Laboratory in Lahore has confirmed at least one cholera case.
